The Community
The studio is located in the former housing complex known as Gaswerksiedlung in Rummelsburg. These Dutch-style residences, built in 1926 for the employees of a gasworks, have been transformed since 2018 into Berlin's largest creative community. With more than 6000 m2 and 300 "Gaswerkers", it is located next to the Berlin Funkhaus and offers, among other things, a large green area, a bistro, and even a fantastic club with live music.
The Booth
The recording room was designed with the aim of offering the best possible acoustics for the musicians during the recording sessions. The versatility of this 18m2 room allows us to record either in parts or live with the possibility of varying the reverb depending on the target. In addition, a 24x6 multicore allows up to 24 channels to be recorded simultaneously via the analogue console and tracked directly in pro tools.
The Ship
The control room is the main working place. This 22 square metre space is where a large part of our most precious toys are hidden. In order to achieve the necessary acoustic parameters for perfect sound distribution, it is necessary to work with the best acoustics, both in the design and construction phases. This is how a varied combination of absorbers, diffusers and bass traps come together to provide a room with no colouration, a balanced frequency response, a reverberation time in the order of 0.22 seconds and a musical clarity (C80) of 27 dB. In addition, the 7.4.2 monitoring system allows not only to mix for Dolby Atmos but also to have an ideal speaker set-up for spatializing projects in Ambisonics, WFS or other multi-channel formats.
